Loire Valley Cypress at Summer’s End
In this painting, a magnificent cypress tree stretches all the way from the bottom to the top of the canvas. At a point not too far up from the ground, the tree’s solid light-brown trunk separates into multiple vertical branches, all adorned with multitudes of lovely leaves. The foliage is beginning its transition from summer’s verdant green to autumn’s vibrant golden splendor.
Behind the giant cypress, a forest of shorter trees frames darkened passageways which beckon the viewer to explore the secrets that lie within.
As big fluffy clusters of white and violet-gray clouds crisscross the brilliant blue sky, they complement and counterbalance the slanted line of the forest treetops.
