Lifeguard Shack at Sunset

The sunset-facing side of an understatedly chic rectangular wooden lifeguard shack that has been closed up for the night glows golden, while its shaded side resonates deep bronze. The sky offers up dazzling shades of sapphire blue, orange and coral-red. The sea reflects the sky’s blue. At the shoreline, the smooth wet sand is a muted purplish-mauve. The dry sand surrounding the shack is an undulating medley of bright coral-pink hills and dark violet valleys.

The door of the shack is elevated several feet up from the ground. It’s accessed by a short flight of steps leading up to a platform wrapped around the shack like a porch. Bright lavender light reflects off the steps in a charming formation of stacked diagonal lines, bringing a touch of “bling” to the picture.
